Ingredients

125 g Butter, unsalted (softened)
125 g White sugar
125 g Ground Almonds
2 Egg (lightly beaten)
1 tsp Cinnamon, ground
1 Egg yolk
50 g Flaked almond (toasted)
2 packet NESTLE LEISI QUICK flaky pastry, round
200 g CAILLER Cremant Chocolate

Preparation steps

Pre-heat the oven to 220°C/420°F.

Break the chocolate into pieces and melt in a heatproof bowl over a bowl of simmering water.

Beat together the butter and sugar until smooth and creamy. Add the ground almonds, the melted chocolate, two eggs and the cinnamon. Mix together well.

Place one disc of LEISI QUICK pastry on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Prick all over with fork and then spread with the chocolate mixture leaving a 2 cm border all round the edge.

Wet the edge of the pastry with water and place the second pastry disc over the top of the filling.

Seal well using your fingers and then the prongs of a fork to ensure the two edges will not separate during baking.

Brush the top of the pastry with the beaten egg yolk and decorate with a cross hatch pattern made with the point of a sharp knife. Prick lightly to prevent the pastry puffing up too much.

Bake in the pre-heated oven at 220°C/420°F for 40 minutes. Remove the baking paper after 20 minutes to ensure the base of the tart becomes crisp.

Serve the tart warm, sprinkled with the flaked almonds.
