Black Forest trifle stack


Black Forest trifle stack

Vanilla ice cream, chocolate cake, cherries and kirsch together in a new twist on a classic dessert. Inspired by an original recipe by Nestlé Canada.

Preparation time

10 minutes

Ingredients

4 tbsps Kirsch ((or cherry juice))
150 ml Whipping cream 30% (whipped)
20 g Flaked almonds (toasted)
4 Slices Chocolate cake
4 scoops NESTLÉ Vanilla Ice cream
150 g Cherry jam

Preparation steps

Cut each slice of cake in half and arrange two half slices on each plate. Drizzle each portion with a tbsp of kirsch or cherry juice.

In a small microwaveable bowl heat the cherry jam(jelly)on high for 30 secs or until warm.

Top each slice of cake with a scoop of NESTLÉ Vanilla ice cream and a dollop of whipped cream.


Drizzle with the warmed cherry jam/jelly and sprinkle with the flaked almonds. Serve immediately.

Chocolate mint bananas


Chocolate mint bananas

Baked bananas infused with mint and served with rich chocolate ice cream. For the ultimate treat you could serve this drizzled the After Eight chocolate sauce. Recipe from Nestlé Spain.

Ingredients

4 Bananas
4 sprigs Mint, fresh
50 g Butter, unsalted
50 g Sugar
2 tbsps Rum, brown
4 scoops NESTLÉ Chocolate Ice cream
4 squares of aluminium foil (25 x 25 cm)

Preparation steps

Pre-heat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Peel the bananas, make a slit along the length of the bananas and insert three or four mint leaves into each slit. Use the tip of a knife to push the leaves fully inside.

Beat together the butter, sugar and rum until it is creamy. Spread the butter mixture over the bananas. Place each banana in the center of a foil square, fold the foil over the banana and seal the edges to make a package.

Bake in the pre-heated oven for 20-25 minutes.

Carefully remove the bananas from the foil trying to keep them in once piece. Place the bananas on the serving plates and drizzle with the cooking juices. Serve with a scoop of chocolate ice cream and garnished with fresh mint leaves.

Smarties Slush


Smarties Slush

Creamy, simple and good. Enjoy this Smarties ice cream treat to cool you down on a hot day.

Ingredients


1 tube NESTLÉ SMARTIES
200 ml CARNATION Evaporated milk
Mini Smarties to decorate.
500 ml NESTLÉ Vanilla Ice cream

Preparation steps

Place the SMARTIES in a strong plastic food bag, close the bag and place a on wooden board or hard surface. Crush the SMARTIES by tapping them with a rolling pin or something similar.

SMARTIES should be in little pieces. For a finer result grind the SMARTIES in a coffee grinder.

Place the NESTLÉ Ice cream and CARNATION Evaporated milk in a blender or liquidizer and blend until smooth. Add the SMARTIES crumbs and pulse once to distribute throughout the mixture. Do not mix too much.

Divide the mixture between four beakers or serving dishes and sprinkle with Mini Smarties.


Serve straight away. Please note this is not a drink and should not be consumed through straws

as there may be large pieces of SMARTIES in the mixture.

After Eight chocolate sauce


After Eight chocolate sauce

A luxurious, smooth chocolate sauce with just a hint of mint. Create a mint Belle Hélène with vanilla ice cream, poached pears and this minty sauce.

Ingredients


75 g NESTLÉ Dessert Chocolate (finely chopped)
4 NESTLÉ After Eight Chocolate Mints (roughly chopped)
100 ml GLORIA Evaporated milk

Preparation steps


Place the chopped NESTLÉ Dessert Chocolate and the chopped After Eight in a bowl. Heat the GLORIA Evaporated milk to boiling point.
Pour the hot milk onto the chocolate. Leave for a few minutes and then stir well until completely combined. This may take a few minutes to achieve, the sauce should be smooth with an even colour. Serve the sauce warm or cold.
